Toronto’s Media Shares a Little Magic with a Little Bowling!

(Toronto, January 29, 2008) - On Saturday, February 2nd over 250 of Toronto’s media and corporate sector are bowling for a BIG cause at the 36th Annual Bowl For Kids Sake (BFKS) Media & Corporate Day. Bowl For Kids Sake is the biggest fundraiser for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto (BBBST) – last year they raised over 250,000 and hope to raise 300,000 in 2008. Funds raised this year will help Big Brothers and Big Sisters continue to deliver the highest quality volunteer-based mentoring programs to children and youth who would benefit from a friend.

Thanks to the generosity of Nintendo, for the first time in Bowl For Kids Sake’s history, bowlers will get the chance to virtually strike out with Nintendo’s Wii Bowling video game.   This year bowlers are encouraged to decorate their team shirts with original, creative designs for a chance to win prizes. The Grand Raffle prize includes a Nintendo Wii system.

“Our need for volunteers is ever growing. The Toronto media and corporate sector are especially important when it comes to getting our message of need out to the community. The support and funds we receive at events like Bowl For Kids Sake help Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto continue in its mission to positively influence the lives of children in our community,” says Cathy Denyer, President of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto.

BBBST is still registering teams for Media & Corporate day and you can bowl alongside City TV, CTV, 680 News, FAN 590, FLOW 93.5, Q017 and CHUM FM. If you are interested in sharing a little magic with a little bowling, please contact Camille at (416) 925-8981, ext 4138 or bbbst.com.  Help make a difference for Toronto’s children and youth by signing up a team or making a kind donation.  We hope to see you at the alley!
