Big Brothers

Every boy needs a Big Brother to share time with, have fun with, talk to or confide in. Whether it's playing sports, playing computer games or just goofing around, you'll make a big difference in each other's life.

Our Original and best-known One-to-One program gives volunteers the chance to build a relationship with a child/youth. As a Big Brother in this program, you will be an adult mentor to a Little Brother (6-18 years old) in a one-to-one relationship.

You don’t have to change your life to become a Big Brother… having a Little Brother just means you have someone else to share your life.

We match a Big Brother with a Little Brother taking care to ensure they have similar interests.  Matches spend one-to-one time together doing things that friends do… like talking, playing ball in the park, watching a movie or just hanging out.

There are also several fun sponsored events provided throughout the year such as the Soap Box Derby at High Park, the Winter Carnival and Celebration of Friendship picnic for all Big and Little Brothers and Sisters.

"I consider myself one of the most fortunate people in Toronto...Getting involved with Big Brothers and my Little Brother Tom ranks among the most rewarding things I have ever done...The saying 'time flies when you're having fun' directly applies."

A Big Brother Is...

A Little Brother Is...

LITTLE BROTHERS are great kids anxiously waiting to have fun with someone like you. Their ages usually range from 6 to 18, and all are excited to be a part of this program. If you’ve ever wanted to be a kid again, your Little Brother will be happy to help you out. That’s the magic of the program – you learn from each other.

About the One-to-One Program

As a Big Brother you will meet with your Little Brother a minimum of two hours per week or four hours bi-weekly and we ask for a one year committment. Together, you will share hobbies, sports and everyday activities. Regular meetings will be arranged each week or every two weeks.
