How Your Contributions Make A BIG Difference

The impact your donation or fundraising dollars will have on children and the community of Toronto as a whole is incredible . No matter the size of your gift, you are helping many of Toronto’s children and youth receive the gift of friendship – a friendship that has untold benefits. Here are just SOME of the ways your contributions will support the services we provide:

Recruit more Role Models. We have a serious shortage of Big Brothers and every dollar raised helps us create awareness and solicit volunteers to ensure that every child who needs a mentor has a mentor. With over 250 Littles on our waitlist, recruiting volunteers has never been more important!

$100

Provide healthy snacks and equipment for our weekly Game On Boys and Go Girls! Mentoring Programs. Both programs address the physical activity, healthy eating/nutrition and self-esteem/communications skills of youth.

$500

Opens a new Match Patch Location –Match Patch is a creative programmatic solution that has been implemented in response to the increased wait times for volunteers to receive their completed police clearance. This site creates a space in which potential matches can meet on a regular basis while the volunteer waits for his/her police clearance. This site is supervised and monitored by an original program staff member to ensure adherence to child-safety guidelines.

$1000

Make a Match! This is the approximate cost of serving one child in any of our programs for one year.

We believe by changing the course of young lives we can in turn be changing the course of a community’s future. That it could lead to a reduction in poverty and unemployment, to safer school and neighborhood and to a renewed optimism for growth. That it could even lead to change on a broader, more far-reaching scale.

$1500

Provide support to our Youth Program – healthy snacks, outings to recreational centres and cultural activities make a world of difference in the lives of these young people.

$2500

Provide our In School Mentoring Program in Toronto’s public schools– it’s hard to put a price on friendship but through our ISM programs within Toronto’s schools we offer a true friend to over 250 children a year.

Mentoring is a relationship that encourages the development of respectful communication and problem-solving skills in children.  Our mentors are positive adult role models who are able to provide guidance, support and encouragement to the entire family.  We reach children at a crucial point in their lives when the impact of a mentor can significantly change the course of their future. With a mentor in their life, children’s horizons are broadened and they start to realize they that have huge potential.
