Post Secondary Readiness

Are you ready for University or College?
Learn about life as a Post Secondary Student!

The Post-Secondary Readiness program is a partnership between Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto and Post-Secondary institutions (currently, New College U of T, George Brown, Humber College, and York University) designed to benefit high school students who are interested in a post-secondary mentorship experience.

Our Littles are paired in activities with current Post Secondary students who have been successfully screened and trained by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto. Mentors are primarily considered to be guides and friends, and are not responsible for tutoring or providing counselling to mentees. Mentors will support high school students in developing a better sense of steps to take beyond high school. Matches meet for 13 sessions from October - April, on campus and engage in group including: tour of the campus, mock lecture, financial aid information, career planning, stress management etc.

This is a site-based program – Each group's time together is limited to that spent on campus, high school student’s travel to and from their specified campus individually. The PFPS coordinator will be at campus to meet them at a specified time. Occasionally Pumped for Post Sec groups may attend optional BBBST special events.
