“We believe in the value and values of mentoring.”
partnership with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), our Newcomer Conversation and Homework
Club is a curriculum based program designed to support and mentor
Newcomer children and youth. Newcomer Conversation and Homework Clubs meet once a week on
school property for 8 consecutive weeks. During Newcomer Conversation and Homework Club
meetings, two trained adult Mentors will facilitate hour-long sessions on
conversation skills, socialization and homework help with 8
to 15 participants referred by their school. During this 8 week group mentoring
program, Bigs and Littles will share their experiences, build their confidence
and bond with one another and their new surroundings.
