The JUMP MATH Program is a site-based program held within an elementary school. Children are in grades 3 to 6. This program uses the JUMP Math system to teach and mentor children. The purpose of the program is to increase children’s self-esteem around math, ease their stress about math and help them realize that math can be fun!
What is the commitment for BIGS?
• Commitment of one hour a week, from 8am to 9am
for one school year Basic knowledge of math is an asset, but by no means to you need to be good at math.
• Role modeling healthy attitudes towards math
• Work with BBBST JUMP Math coordinator and school liaison to provide best practices
What’s in it for BIGS?
This program is an opportunity, where you can use your love of math, and gain relevant skills in working with children. You also have an opportunity to work closely with a child and witness an increase in their math, self-esteem and social skills.
